What’s in a Name?

What’s in a Name?

When the team at REACH started talking with Railway Village Museum they were just the Boothbay Railway Village, but the folks at the museum thought that it was time that their branding really showed what they had to offer. After all, there is so much more than trains happening at this unique look at Maine’s history. After months of careful planning, they decided on new logos, a new name, and worked with REACH Maine Marketing to develop a new website that really told their story.

After a year like 2020 had been, it was nice to know that when the 2021 season rolled around that people from all over Maine and beyond from every walk of life would have something to look forward to and we were happy to help the Railway Village and Museum showcase what a special place it is.

After taking a look at al their new site has to offer from featured photos and events, to information on the village the transportation museum and of course, the trains that this dedicated team of volunteers has restored and maintained, we hope that you will find your way to Boothbay this summer and experience history. Tell them REACH Maine sent you.

Hancock County Has a New Website!

Hancock County needed to have  a website that served the public’s need for information in a more  efficient way. They also wanted a site that was user-friendly for officials and staff to update as needed.

Together we created a site that would appeal to visitors who want to know more about our area and the citizens who already live and work here.  Court News, Commissioner’s meeting notes and agendas, county budget information, bid notices and much more are only a few keystrokes away.

REACH Maine Marketing often works with local municipalities creating appealing and efficient sites that give town officials more time to do what they they do best; running the town.

A New Look for Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County

Working with local organizations who do so much good in our area is always a rewarding experience here at REACH Maine Marketing. One of our goals for Hospice Volunteers was to update their existing website and give them an easy to maintain, clean site where they could keep both clients and the public educated about the important work they do.

From patient care to grief support groups, Hospice offers our community an invaluable service at some of our darkest times. REACH Maine Marketing is happy that we could help them in some way make a difference.

Haven’s New Home Page!

Haven’s sweet new look!

Haven’s Candies has been making fine chocolates in Maine since 1915. Owner, Erin Collins, had a vision of a more modern look, but with warmth and consistency across the site. The team at REACH was happy make this vision a reality.

We were able to separate and define the menu options by color for easier navigation. The red bar (inspired by the red color of Haven’s chocolate boxes) displays the company menu, while the brown bar (inspired by dark chocolate) displays the product menu.

If you have a sweet tooth like we do, be sure to take a look!

Emery’s Cottages Picks Up Speed

When Ashley and Chris visited us in August, Emery’s Cottages website was a bit incomplete and very slow. The REACH Team has made the site load three times faster!

The new site offers About Us, Contact and FAQ pages as well as a pleasing Our Cottages landing page. Users can now view cottages sorted by No Kitchen, Kitchenette and Full Kitchen categories which can determine the length of their stay.

We also trimmed the home page content to improve the scroll experience and ensure that the user was able to navigate easier. This meant eliminating content that was not essential to the promotion of the cottages.

This website was a lot of fun to work on and we are pleased with the outcome. Be sure to check it out for yourself!

THE NEW HOME PAGE AT A GLANCE:

The individual cottage pages have been improved as well. These pages now offer continuity when viewing interior images as well as a pop up map to show where that particular cottage is located on the property. Icons show amenities specific to that cottage at a glance.

The BOOK NOW button jumps you down to the bottom of the page where users can check the availability of the cottage for their specified dates. A new call to action prompts users to check all cottages if this particular cottage is not available for their preferred dates.

IEC Website’s New Look!

The Island Employee Coop website has a new look!

Recently members of the Island Employee Coop met with REACH Maine Marketing to improve their website.

The REACH team came up with a new look and feel for the IEC website as well as a way to offer more to the online user. The site now shows career opportunities and a way to apply for positions online, a new IEC in the Community blog and an email sign up so customers can receive the latest sales fliers by email.

The new IEC BUSINESS pages offer a fun new way to explore the services and products offered in a tab format. Prior to the update these were displayed in list form.

The bottom of each business page offers a look inside the business as well as a map with it’s location.

Local writer’s new website launched

Local writer Roberta Kuriloff had a website centered around her first book. She wanted to rework her website so that it could promote her as a writer, showcase and serve to market all of her work as well as allow her to share her thoughts in a blog.

The REACH Maine Marketing team designed a new look for the site with a similar color scheme that was centered around Roberta herself, not a specific book or piece of writing. The new site contains social media links and share features, email sign up, a photo gallery and her Thinking Aloud Blog.

New website design helps Dirigo Montessori School prepare for move

Dirigo Montessori School is a long-time REACH client. Their website was designed in 2009 and had served them well over the years with many updates to the content and the addition of an external blog and resource information.

When the school Director, Alexandra Wlodkowski, contacted REACH to add information about their move to a new location,  we asked if it might be a good time to consider a complete website update and redesign. Alexandra enthusiastically agreed and scheduled an appointment to meet with REACH to talk about a new website with contemporary, look and feel. We agreed to develop a site with colors from nature showcasing beautiful Montessori learning materials.

Twelve business days later, Dirigo Montessori School, has a new website. “A big thank you goes to the team at REACH Maine Marketing who did stellar job synthesizing information from three sources including the original site, my blog, and wiki page,” said Alexandra Wlodkowski.

You’re welcome, Alexandra. Our pleasure.

The Montessori Classroom

Dirigo Montessori wanted their website to show the many beautiful learning tools that are an important part of their classroom.
